Mission

Cole8 is both a company and a service. It's mission simply is:

"to make Nigeria's information as accessible as possible".

The name 'Cole8' is derived from the word 'collate', meaning "to compare texts critically and to organize them in proper sequence". This, of course, is exactly what Cole8 (search service) is designed to do. The search service is integrated with PRIMER - Cole8's proprietary information sharing service. PRIMER makes it possible for Nigerians to share their public profiles and advertise their businesses for free on Cole8.

Values

Cole8 is built on the following core values:

Truth

We uphold truth in all that we do, even when it seems to our own loss. We do not make false or exaggerated claims in any form whatsoever promotional or otherwise.

Faith

Everything is possible. At Cole8 We do not deride any idea that is consistent with our mission and is in keeping with our core values, regardless of any apparent limitations. If we can imagine it, then we can achieve it. It may only take time.

Blessings above Earnings

We believe that the business does not depend entirely on our earnings but on our blessings from God. We do not necessarily adopt the path that yields the greatest earnings. Rather, we adopt the solutions that are most beneficial to users even when a 'path to profit' is not apparent.

Fairness

At Cole8, all our dealings are conducted in fairness and good faith. We do not give undue advantage to (or take undue advantage of) anyone for any reason whatsoever monetary or otherwise. Neither do we engage in any unlawful or unwholesome practices. If its not right, we don't do it.

Cooperation above Competition

We inevitably compete in the industry. However, we strongly discourage internal competition among our employees and departments. At Cole8, we do not have "Employee of the Month" or "Department of the Year" awards. We understand that such 'motivations' are counterproductive. At Cole8, everyone is a winner.

Design Philosophy

Cole8's products are designed to embody the following qualities:

Simplicity

A good product should be as simple and as intuitive as possible. It should require little or no skill, experience, or memory on the part of users. Also, user interface(s) must be unobtrusive and should provide clearly defined function(s) that can be determined easily by the user.

High Performance

Products must be as quick and as responsive as possible. All resources must be used as efficiently as possible.

Management Philosophy

Cole8 holds a people-oriented management philosophy. It is stated thus:

"If management takes care of employees, employees will take care of clients and clients will be delighted to do business with us."

Management is not centred on hitting financial targets but on recruiting good people, helping them to be better at what they do, keeping them focused on the mission and rewarding them in the best ways possible. Profit comes from doing these right.
